Rosemary Smoked Burger

This is my family’s favorite way I make a burger.  Adding the olive oil to the ground beef helps keep it together and adds a lot of juicy, great flavor!  This burger is not your typical ketchup and mustard burger.  These are best with caramelized onions and avocado.  The burger packs so much wonderful flavor, it’s better with less.



Preheat grill.  Let the ground beef sit out at room temperature about 30 minutes before you begin to handle it.  Mix in the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and sea salt until thoroughly combined.  Divvy up into 5-6 equal parts and make patties.  Do not over handle them, and do not tightly pack them.  Make sure the meat is loosely packed together.  Grill the patties to your desired temperature, 3-4 minutes per side for medium rare.  Serve with caramelized onions and/or avocado.
